What Would Thomas Jefferson Think?

Newseum in Washington, DC

The Newseum in Washington, DC, has posted an article entitled “Newspapers in peril: What would Jefferson think? ”  Although he would deplore the recent decline of the print news media:

“Were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.” -Thomas Jefferson, 1787

Probably he would be out here blogging with the rest of the world!

Visit newseum.org for great information on the importance of free speech and First Amendment rights.
