In recognition of the Martin Luther King Day of Service, JABA is holding “Soup for Seniors”, a canned food drive benefiting local, low-income older adults. This marks the fourth time the nonprofit agency has hosted the drive.
“Hunger never takes a holiday,” says JABA’s Volunteer Service Coordinator Robi Keys. “And, winter weather can make getting to the store close to impossible for low-income seniors who are homebound or who have trouble getting around. A shelf stocked with nutritious ready-to-serve canned or packaged foods can make a life-saving difference for these folks.”
