Lifelong learning, also known as LLL, is the “lifelong, lifewide, voluntary, and self-motivated”[1] pursuit of knowledge for either personal or professional reasons. As such, it not only enhances social inclusion, active citizenship and personal development, but also competitiveness and employability.[2]

The best way to learn something is to teach it! The many school volunteers in our community are enhancing their own lifelong learning skills as they pass the love of learning on to a new generation. I encourage everyone to spend a little time as a volunteer in a local school helping our children learn to value the pursuit of knowledge. You will receive a lot more than you give!
