A Charlottesville elementary school is now nationally known for its improvement in education.
Thursday students and faculty at Jackson-Via Elementary School accepted the Panasonic National School Change Award. It recognizes schools across the country that have shown drastic improvement.
3rd grade teacher Nikki Franklin said, “One of the things that has changed the most is the fact that we have embraced our school motto, ‘whatever it takes’, and the city motto, ‘all means all’. We have an intense dedication to making sure all students have the same opportunities, that we know our content, that we share good ideas and good practices with each other.” Via NBC29.com
