Have you ever wished for an easy way to learn a foreign language?
—and would you like it to be free and available 24/7 in your own home? Well, if you have internet access and a library card for the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library, then you have it!
This year I am a volunteer tutor for an ELL student whose native language is Arabic. We were both so pleased to find that byki has lessons for ELL students for a number of native languages – including Arabic. He can listen to an Arabic word or phrase and then hear it in English and see it printed in English on the screen. There are also lessons for an English speaker to learn both Arabic and transliterated Arabic – really fun with a native speaker of the language to encourage me!
If you love languages and want to learn a new one, this library database is a wonderful resource! Thanks JMRL!!!!
