A new service at the Jefferson Madison Regional Library means you will never be stuck at home during snowy winter weather with nothing to read. I tried it out this morning and I am delighted with installing Adobe Digital Editions (free) and downloading my first Adobe EPUB eBook in seconds. The downside for me is that these digital books do not work with my Kindle, however, you Nook owners are in luck!
Thanks JMRL for a great new service!
Members of the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library now have free access to downloadable, electronic and audio books.
“The library, in essence, is buying your subscription to the downloadable service,” said Melissa Dickens, vice president of the Friends of the Library. “Some people find them more convenient than carrying a regular book, especially when they’re traveling.”
The JMRL launched the downloadable book service late last month, with more than 1,000 downloadable books already available. The regional library was given a $20,000 grant for the project from The Friends of the Library, a volunteer organization that collects donations for the JMRL.
