JMRL Big Read | This is going to be fun!

I am so happy with the choice of the Maltese Falcon for this year’s Big Read!

Everyone that I mention it to says something like, “Wow, that is really going to be fun!”

No excuses – JMRL has a number of copies, but the book is also widely available from Amazon and Barnes & Noble in many formats:  Hard cover, paperback, audiobook and eBook.  The audiobook is also available  from the JMRL download site.

I have chosen to read it on my Kindle and will probably reread it with the Kindle app on my iPad so that I can try out taking notes and annotating the story. I want to be ready for the upcoming contests.  This really is going to be fun – Thanks so much JMRL for making it possible!

THE BIG READ* is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts designed to revitalize the role of literary reading in American popular culture. JMRL has received a grant from the NEA to provide a BIG READ throughout central Virginia during March and April 2011.

The Library’s goal is to encourage all residents of Central Virginia to read and discuss The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett during this time. There will be many programs discussing the book and the time period.
