Week 6 – Know Thyself | Now you have hit a nerve, Prof Green!

know6Old Dog/New Tricks

In listening to Lecture 11.4, I was silently agreeing with the idea that a two year old probably cannot will to change his/her behavior, when I was struck by a sentence further on which stated that we may lose the ability to change the way we behave as we get older.  Now that is an awful thought!

I was surprised to read recently that a large proportion of MOOC students seem to be older lifelong learners, many of whom already have one or more college degrees. I have been pleasantly surprised that I have “met” many MOOC students in their 60s, 70s, and even 80s, so I have concluded that though some might lose the ability to change with changing times, there are many of us who just keep on adapting.  I am now rereading Jane Eyrebut this time on my Kindle.  I am probably looking up many more unfamiliar words than ever before, simply because it is now so easy.
