JABA Volunteer Opportunities for September | Looking for something to do? Come join us!

fish-newlogo2 (1) Summer vacation is over – time to get busy again!  JABA has lots of volunteer opportunities for folks of all ages.

1) Are you bored? Longing to get out of the house, feel needed, AND do something good? We’ve got just the thing! Become a certified FISH volunteer and you can experience the joy and satisfaction that comes from helping a child succeed. “Friends in Schools Helping”, (FISH), is a JABA program that matches community residents with children that need help in our local schools. Learn more by contacting FISH at 434-817-5289 or fish@jabacares.org. Available in Fluvanna, Louisa, Albemarle & Charlottesville.

2) Are you a natural leader and organized? Do you enjoy working with many different people and live in Fluvanna County? Consider taking on the role of the Volunteer Coordinator at the Fluvanna Community Center. The center is open to serve the community on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

3) Everybody loves a good rummage sale and JABA’s Adult Care Center has one of the best in town with all proceeds going towards members’ scholarships! No worries about the weather because it is indoors. We are looking for groups and individuals that can help with set up on a Friday evening and with the day of sale on Saturday October 26. We are currently accepting donations, please wait to drop off furniture the week of the sale.
