JABA Volunteer Opportunities for December

1) Help support students in our schools! Friends in Schools Helping is a JABA program that provides screened, certified volunteers to help meet critical needs in our local schools. Read with a child, help around the classroom, tutor math or be a breakfast buddy! Commitment is at least 1 hour/week, with certification training before you begin. New volunteers will be placed after winter break. Learn more by contacting FISH at 434-817-5289 or fish@jabacares.org.

2) JABA’s Volunteer Services Department is in need of several key volunteer staff people. This includes: taking the lead on our recruitment efforts, posting volunteer positions to several different websites, contacting agencies and organizations to set up presentations and post opportunities, data entry, and several specialized database projects.

3) Twice is Nice is in need of people to specifically handle the furniture in the salon for this upscale resale boutique locate in Preston Plaza. We need individuals that can receive the furniture that is being delivered as donations and load it out for customers who are purchasing it. Sometimes the pieces will need to be moved about in the showroom as well.
