Free Skin Cancer Screening – Saturday, May 9

Sun!We love the warm weather and sunshine, but remember that exposure to the sun can cause serious damage to your skin.

The UVa Health System is offering a free screening that could save your life:

If you are concerned that a spot on your skin may be skin cancer, you can be screened for free at the University of Virginia Health System’s upcoming skin cancer screening event. Physicians trained in identifying skin cancer will perform evaluations of suspicious spots to look for any signs of developing problems. Bring in a baseball cap or visor to exchange for a new sun protection hat, while supplies last.

The University of Virginia Skin Cancer Screening will be held from 8 a.m.-noon May 9 at the UVa Primary Care Center located at 1221 Lee St. Parking is always free for patients and visitors at the Lee Street Garage. An appointment is required; please call 1-800-223-9173 to schedule or for more information.
