I have found my PLACE in Charlottesville – a wonderful place to live, study, work, and play!
Leaving good friends and familiar places can be painful, indeed, but why waste time feeling sad? My approach to finding my “place” has always been a combination of Community Involvement and Lifelong Learning, and Charlottesville is a wonderful location for both. Of course you need to stay Active & Healthy to enjoy all the opportunities. I hope you will join me in finding a sense of place in Charlottesville!
Throughout my life as an “Army brat,” Army wife, high school science teacher, college faculty member, and IT professional, I have always known that establishing a sense of “home” as quickly as possible after a move is so important. Retiring from a job I loved and leaving the small town in rural Alabama where we had lived for 18 years was a little frightening at first, but Charlottesville was where we wanted to be. I knew I could get a map, start exploring, and find my place yet again. I now have a new “career” as a volunteer and have made new friends while learning a lot about my latest PLACE.
