Success! Our first photo of a Monarch caterpillar – a VERY hungry caterpillar, indeed – was taken on September 2, 2021.
We were so pleased to receive our Monarch Garden sign and certificate from the North American Butterfly Association in June 2020. During this pandemic it has been somewhat surprising, but also very calming, to notice that nature is moving along at its regular pace.
We are choosing plants that should appeal especially to the Monarch butterflies that migrate through C’ville every year, and we look forward to their appearance in our gardens here at the Colonnades in Charlottesville, Virginia.
